Max/Min in Venn Diagram
Can someone explain algebraically how you arrive at C here? I understand conceptually how it works, but not sure how to arrange the variables in a classic Venn Diagram.

Why wouldn't this be 2/3 + 1/6 or 5/6 probability? At the beginning of the selection process, there are 2 girls and 1 boy to choose from meaning that the probability of selecting a girl would be 2/3. Because it's asking for "OR", we have to add the second probability that a boy will be pic...

Geometry, value of x
See attached picture. I understand after seeing the answer that the key is finding the 30-60-90 property of triangle (RPT)--through this you can determine angle (RSQ) and angle (UST) and subtract from 180 to find angle x. Answer C. But how do you determine the 30-60-90 relationship of the largest tr...

Properties of numbers, sets
K is a set of numbers such that: (i) If x is in K, then -x is in K, and (ii) if each x and y is in K, then xy is in K. Is 12 in K? (1.) 2 is in K. (2.) 3 in is K. I'm having trouble understanding why the set can't span from -3 to 3 and NOT include 12 (making the answer E)? How do you assign "x&...

But 0 is an integer. If the prompt stated "positive integers", that's a different story. But it just states simply "integer", of which 0 is one.
Because of this, either X or Y could be 0, and the other could be any other positive or negative integer.
Why isn't this the case?

0 as an integer
Problem #31 in the OG16 Quantitative Review bonus book: If x and y are integers, what is the value of x? (1.) xy=1 (2.) x≠1 The answer given is C (both statements together are sufficient), but isn't this overlooking the fact that x could be 0? Making the answer E in my mind... What am I missing he...

I'm planning to take the test in mid June. I haven't yet taken a full practice test, but my score goal is 700. I've self-diagnoed...

Practice on translating word problems into equations
Hello!
Does anyone have a good resource that focuses strictly on translating word problems into workable equations? Finding that I have trouble on getting the proper equation down, but once it's there I can work through the necessary steps.
