@Matt: Exactly. The OG does not teach the concepts it just provides practice questions and their explanations. The book you recommended for word problems looks good. Would you say that it includes everything needed for tackling word problem questions on GMAT?

Exactly. That was the problem i was having. I solved it with your approach by testing values and looking that the remaining cost must be divisible by 0.5. However, i wanted to make the algebraic equation but was unable to do so.

Step 1: Plot both points on the graph and connect the points to the x-axis to form a right angle triangle Step 2: A right angled triangle is formed with two sides of length 3. The third side can be found using Pythagorean Theorem. 3^2 + 3^2 = x^2. Therefore, x(radius) = √18 Step 3: Area of circle ...

So we have to write the equation in terms of the constant: for example the equation would be: p + k = r, r + k = s. But you have written in the TERMS of constant because when you will test the statements below, you can check that whether the sequence continues in TERMS of the constant. The constant ...

The formula i applied was:
Weighted Average = Population A/Total * Average of A + Population B/Total * Average of B
35 = 22/48 * (38) + 26/48 * x
x = 35*48/22*38*26
