calculating the hypotenuse gives 2 sqrt 65 and so the time needed to travel with 2 miles/ hour would be 8 hours.

In B it seems it is parallel, but learning to drive and playing guitar are not actually parallel
Whereas d properly mentions learning to drive and learning to play...so more apt

I feel it should be B, since it is parallel and maintains the meaning of original sentence.
adding whether in the statement makes it ambiguous, since it is later accompanied with and convince
