Whats wrong with B ? Although she had signed a pledge of abstinence while in adolescence .. Please explain.. I'd say 'B' is wrong because the tense is changing from simple past (had signed) to continuous (while in adolescence). This can still be done, if it was written as 'while she was in adolesce...

stubbornp wrote:confusion b/w B&E....plz advice.
E is wrong because 'which' is not implying 'stomach irritation'. It is implying stomach.

This e.g. might help:

My father's snoring irritates my mother, who loves him anyway.

who - does not imply 'my mother's irritation', but 'my mother'.

Re: SC OG 104 .. doubt on modifiers ..

I would still go with 'E'. The word 'like' (or 'unlike') allows you to compare dissimilar items (e.g. they looked like ghosts). This allows us to compare Nuclear Fusion with an Atomic Reactor. Also simply using the word 'merging' after the comma would be wrong IMO, because it should be 'by merging'....

Re: Verbal Review Q ..Plz help

I'll go with D.
C is wrong because 'allow that' is not idiomatic.

e.g. I will not allow you to go. (you can't do 'I will not allow that you go' etc - that's not the right use).

I will also say 'D' is right, because 'they' should point to investment officers, and not 'investment officers' fees'

stubbornp wrote:Why not B?
Can't be 'B' because the we need the word 'and' between the countries.

e.g. I run faster than Joe, Mike AND James. (it should not be 'or').

Hope this helps.

I'll go with E.

A would be wrong, because the noun here is not 'United States', but 'United States Citizens'.

And the Citizen's don't have 5% of the world's population - the US does.

Also, there is a comparison drawn between US and European citizens, so 'Although' fits fine.

Yep - so here is something I came across:

- He is a native of Australia
- A Kangaroo is native to Australia

In the first case, native of Australia- is a noun.
In the second case, native to Australia - the word native is an adjective.

Option E is perfect, since it matches the idiom, and singular.
