T = B + F + T - (BF + BT + FT) - 2(BFT)
Mitch,

I got confused with the formula. I think it should be "+2(BFT) because when we subtract 3 groups of "both", we subtract the group of "three" twice.

Could you explain? Thanks.

Thanks Ron! Your words always have incredible power of inspiration. Your story has more… SISU! I like it! Ultimately, attitude is what counts most. Other things can be found today or tomorrow, as long as we possess SISU. (it would be easier to have if it were “sushi) And don’t worry about y...

You're really special, Ron! Severe dyslexic person with 800 on the gmat!!! I just read about some dyslexic people who are genius. But in the gmat field, hem, there maybe only you. So could you share some tips that help people who have the similar issue but are not genius? If yes, I have some questio...

It's very impressive, Mitch!

Could I calculate like this:

Probability =( Adam, not Karen, not Karen, not Karen) x 4 (arrangements) = 1/8*6/7*5/6*4/5*4 =2/7 ?

Send Karen out of the room and, from the remaining 6 volunteers, select 3 more people. Since the order in which we select the 3 volunteers does not matter, we can use combinations. We can select 3 people from 6 volunteers in 6C3 ways ( 20 ways). Hi Brent, In case if we have to choose 4 people inclu...

Case 2: The signs are changed on ONE SIDE x-y = -y+x x-y = x-y 0 = 0. In the resulting equation, x and y disappear. The implication is that x and y are IRRELEVANT in Case 2: the equation will hold true for ANY TWO VALUES. Thus: x-y = -y+x for ALL values x and y. Because Case 2 will hold true for al...

HI Mitch,

How should I think about the statement (1)|x - y| = |y - x| with the concept of absolute value? Do I have to solve 2 cases? Or it'll be better if using graphs?
Thanks.

Hi Mitch,

To the statement (2) x^7 > x^8, if I rearrange it by another way, it becomes confused:

x^7-x^8 >0
x^7(1-x) >0
From this, two cases will appear: x<1 or x>1

What's wrong with this way?
Thanks.
