Pre MBA Course Recommendations
Hello, I would like to build an alternate transcript and am having problems deciding what I should take. I know UCLA extension courses are reputable, however the course that I thought would be best is already full. Can anyone provide any other good institutions/courses that I should consider. I noti...

Confusing problem solving
At a certain committee meeting only associate professors and assistant professors are present. Each associate professor has brought 2 pencils and 1 chart to the meeting, while each assistant professor has brought 1 pencil and 2 charts. If a total of 10 pencils and 11 charts have been brought to the ...

2 Variables 1 Equation
My question is regarding the concept of 2 variables with 1 equation. I know that in general, once you have an equation with 2 variables, there are is an infinite possibility for the value of those 2 variables but under certain circumstances, the equation can be solved. Is it the case that if the var...

In my last CAT the week before the test I scored 750 (Q49) and the time before that 720 (Q47). I think I should be able to get a minimum 47 on a retake. Do you have any recommendations for my study schedule. Normally I would not re-take but I am using the GMAT to make up for other parts of my app.

Rich, Thanks for your response. Your right, I scored a 43 in quant. However there were a few questions I knew I could answer that I froze on. I intend to apply to UNC and want to use the GMAT to make up for other parts of my app. I think sometimes my approach might be off and I feel sure that if i d...

Advice on a retake?... (680)
I recently scored 680 and while overall a good score.. it was mostly supported by my verbal score of 40. I got a very poor quant score and I am taking this week to re-group so I can prepare for my next take on August 30th. I was hoping I could get some advice on a retake strategy that I have come up...

Plugging numbers typically works best when you suspect that the statement is NOT SUFFICIENT. In these cases, all you need to do is find values that yield different (conflicting) answers to the target question. If the statement is SUFFICIENT, then plugging in values will only give you a general idea...

Testing Numbers Strategy
Hello, Was wondering if I could get some advice on a problem I'm having. I know a big part of beating data sufficiency is being able to test numbers to arrive at the right answer (especially important for yes/no questions), yet I would say this is one of my weaknesses. It's like having to test numbe...

Great post! Do you mind elaborating on how you used the MGMAT guides with the Empower course? Did you go through all of the guide books first and then use the empower course or did you alternate between them?

testing the answer choices
A certain fruit stand sold apples for $0.70 each and bananas for $0.50 each. If a customer purchased both apples and bananas for a total of $6.30, what number of apples and bananas did the customer purchase. A)10 B)11 C)12 D)13 E)14 I know this can be solved pretty easily with algebra but can anyone...

Test Score PLUMMET
My exam is at the end of this month. I just took a practice CAT and scored an embarrassingly low 590 after scoring 660, 650 and 720 my previous CATS. I don't know if it is because of a change in software, (my first 3 CATS were using GMAT Prep software and the last one was using Manhattan) but I am s...
