Sounds like you are getting some good advice here; I would re-inforce the points made about the importance of taking realistic, online, timed practice tests. It's great to review the foundations early on, especially if you do need the extra math help, but you could review all the math foundations av...

Hi there, Glad to be of help. 1. Generally it's good to do approx 1 CAT/week, though that may vary based on your time til your test and how much time you can devote to prep, etc. And keep in mind that you should spend a decent amount of review time after each CAT. So many preppers find that 6-10 CAT...

So I'm guessing that you still have a fair amount of time before your exam.....in which case, a few recommendations. 1) Part of building up your test-taking skills is by actually taking tests, so yes, the more timed online practice you do, the better. You'll want to try to do all of your CATs in you...

I completely agree with Jim's explanation; the GMAT SHOULD feel difficult to everyone...it is adaptive, and the better you do, the harder it should feel!! This is different from a linear test like the SAT's for example.....and psychologically that is something to get used to as you prep for the GMAT...

Hi Dave, While 2 years is a bit below the average at many MBA programs, 3-4 is very common, so you are not far off (and not sure how many years you'd have by the time you'd begin, depending on when you are aiming to start)? You are correct in that in general, it is both quantity and quality of work ...

Hi there, Most of our students prepare for about 2-3 months, part-time. I would say a rough average is 1-2 hours/day, 4-6 days/week during that time, with some variation, and often some longer hours on the weekends to take full-length practice tests. A lot of what YOU need to prepare depends upon yo...

Hi, Glad to help with your concerns overall. It's hard to comment without looking at specific questions and their frequency, and I'm not sure how many CATs you've taken, because there is a pool of thousands of questions from which any CAT's questions are pulled...so in all likelihood, perhaps it was...

Hello, While I cannot comment specifically on what GMAC is referring to, I can share the advice I provide to my students. I do recommend that when you are prepping for the GMAT, you increase the amount of reading that you do overall between now and the test, because the more that you read, the more ...

Hi there, Congrats on your many strong scores so far, in the 90th percentile and above! Generally if you are scoring 700+ on Kaplan and GMAT Prep CATs, that indicates you are certainly capable of scoring that on the real exam. The lower scores are either bad days, or due to reasons I mention below. ...

One quick word of advice-- suggest that your boss focus on "showing, not telling"....or basically, use stories and specific examples in the letters, not just a list of traits. They should not sound like form letters (as many do), but instead show specifics about you and your accomplishments.

Hello, It sounds like your concern is whether you will have sufficient work experience for the top-ranked schools for 2010. If you began in 2010, you'd have 3 years of full-time work experience then, correct? That is not far off from average, so would not necessarily be much of a negative factor. Th...

Hi there, Most test-takers I've worked with have found that 2-3 months of part time study is sufficient, even at only 1-2 hours/day, 4-6 days/week or so. It depends to a certain extent what your starting score is, and what your target score is. So you may want to take an initial practice test soon o...

I would say, with regard to your question about 600+, that it really depends upon your starting point. I have seen people score 600+ with just a couple of weeks of study, but every individual is different. Those who start with relatively strong math skills, strong logic skills, and generally strong ...
