line intersection??

This is a question from MGMAT CAT online My answer was D , but answer provided by MGMAT is A , and here is the explanation: [spoiler]Lines are said to intersect if they share one or more points. In the graph, line segment QR connects points (1, 3) and (2, 2). The slope of a line is the change in y d...

Hmm, the question as it stands couldn't be a GMAT question. To begin, there would have been a proviso that rules out the possibility of the denominator = 0 (e.g., x cannot equal y) Also, the value of this rational expression varies as we plug in different values for x and y such that xy=1. Where di...

thanks

given the statement 1 and 2, we can already conclude that the only possible outcome of x is 1, because x has to be a positive int and it has to be lower than a 2, then it got to be 1 regardless of what the question is asking

therefore i guess the question may be not too legit :D

if x^2-x-6<0, what is the value of x?

if x^2-x-6<0, what is the value of x?

1. x is an positive integer
2. -2<x<2

I found this somewhere on the web, the answer given is A but I thought it should be E, what do you think?

wording of questions

I have encountered a supposedly easy question on MGMAT, however the wording puzzled me: If -3x < 6, which of the following must be true? A x < -3 B x < -2 C x > 3 D x > -2 E x > 0 this question can be easily solved by division on both sides, and result is x>-2, which most people would incline to cho...

The question I post is sent to me by a friend who got it from a gmat prep company in China, which I have heard that they might have used real gmat questions, but this is not for sure. Just to be cautious and to not stir any controversial matter in this forum I have edited my reply regarding the sour...
