m= + or - sqrt. of 3

therefore,
a=+sqrt. of 3
b=-sqrt. of 3

hence -a+b = -sqrt of 3 -sqrt of 3
=-2(sqrt. of 3)

to find the no. of integers between 100 & 200 ... dont take into account the end pts (100 & 200) ...

So, no, of integers between 100 & 200 = (199- 101)+1= 99

let cost for gift = x Al -> $2 less than (1/3) of the cost of gift => (1/3)x-$2 Lew -> $2 greater than (1/4) of the cost of the gift => (1/4)x+$2 karen => $15 so, cost of the gift = Al + Lew + karen i.e, x=[(x/3)-2]+[(x/4)+2]+[15] solving this u get x=36 hence the cost of gift is $36
