I would say the test was very similar to the GMAT Prep test I took this past weekend. Quant was very number properties focused. Know your rules regarding primes, roots, etc. After that, there were quite a few inqualities as well. Only a couple of statistics/sets problems, mainly around mean/median. ...

Another Marketing guy here! 2 years in CPG sales/category management and 2 years (at matriculation) in CPG brand management. I've noticed the same thing as you. This forum seems very heavy in a few specific backgrounds. I'm targeting targeting HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg and Duke in my top 5. (R...

The GMAT Prep tests (from mba.com) are definitely the most accurate indicator. (My prep test was within 10 points of the real one) I'd also recommend Manhattan CATs for practicing. They are a bit more difficult but really help you prepare for the real thing. The best part about them is the analysis ...

Beat The GMAT - 720! (Q47 V41)
I just took the GMAT for the first time today and scored a 720 (95th%)! Quant - 47 (81%) Verbal - 41 (93%) My goal was a 700 so I am very pleased with my score. I took the Manhattan Online course and followed it very strictly. My test was 2 weeks after the course. I would strongly recommend Manhatta...

Could someone please clarify problem 2 step c...I'm not understanding how we get from: sq.rt( 9 + sq.rt(80) ) = sq.rt(5) + 2
I understand sq.rt(9+2 sq.rt(20)) but after that I'm lost.
Thanks!

Well, I took the GMAT Prep this morning. My score...730!! 48Q and 42V My previous scores on Manahattan CATs were 650-640-660. Quant on GMAT Prep definitely felt easier. Verbal was different (CR structure mainly), but I guess not as difficult either. Hopefully today's score will be an accurate reflec...

Test this Thursday - Practice test on Saturday?
My first test day is this Thursday, the 29th. I've taken 4 practice tests so far. 1 GMATPrep test (took 4 months ago before any studying) and 3 Manhattan GMAT tests. My Manhattan scores haven't been as high as I would have liked which has hurt my confidence a bit. I took my 3rd practice test last we...

I'm realizing that I know the concepts very well, however when I get in a test situation I get in too much of a rush to apply them. For the next few days, I'm focusing on abstract quant problems and making myself think for 15 seconds before diving into the problem. This will force me to think of var...

3 months + Manhattan = +10pts???
Hi everyone. I started studying in February for the GMAT. My goal is 700. I'm taking the GMAT on May 29th. I first took the GMAT Prep test in February before ANY studying. I scored a 500 (can't remember breakdown). Pretty scary. So I purchased the OG 11th guide and and went through it for a few week...

Would you be able to be more specific? I'm having problems with that same quesiton as well.
If N^2 is an integer...then N must be an integer, correct? Are there any circumstances where the product of two non-integers equals an integer?
Thanks!

Officially Signed Up for GMAT - Current Study Plan
I've been browsing for a few weeks now and just signed up for the GMAT on May 29th. I'm targeting a 700+ score (who isn't). I took the GMATPrep test last week with no preparation at all and score a 500 (Q 35, V 23). It was definitely lower than I expected, but at the same time I had no preparation a...
