Thanks a lot for your response David. I wanted to check if my logic worked correct as I feel for me it is easier to answer Bold questions as compared to questions of other CR categories.
By the way, veritasprep question bank and CR 2 book helped me improve my accuaracy in CR.

See the below approach seems logical to you: Let rate of Jack be j and that of Tom be t. Also let T be the # hours that Tom takes to type 20 pages. From given info: t*T=20 and j*(T+2)=20; Also, (j+t)*3=25 => j+t=25/3 Now, the problem asks time it will take for Jack to type 40 pages i.e. double # pag...

Consider this: 5 people as AB CD E. Here there are two couples and # ways to select one couple= 2C1 i.e. 2 ways Say we selected AB , so we have xEx i.e. 2 ways for A & B. Therefore total ways=2*2=4 ways. Now, we still have CD to find ways to sit for them. If now we have xAxExBx or xBxExAx then w...

Can anyone help me with this GMATPrep DS question?
Is w greater than 1?
1. w+2 > 0
2. w^2 > 1
My approach:
1. w+2 >0 then w> -2 Not sufficient
2. w^2 > 1 then w >1 or w < -1. Not sufficient
Combining 1 & 2, we get -2 < w < -1 and hence w < 1. My answer : C
But OA is E. Can anyone explain?[/b]
