While I agree with a lot that has been said, I really should stress that the final decision should be in how the degree fits into **your** life, not anyone else's. Full time v Part time is a personal decision, and one should that be made upon reflection on your specific goals, and what you plan to g...

I think your question is actually pretty common, given that students of top MBA programs are usually pretty competitive, driven people. I would advise you (and anyone else who reads this later) to just take it easy until you begin your program. If you come in really well rested to your MBA program, ...

I completely agree that this is an ignored topic, and I am really glad you are bringing it up. While I am a guy and can't speak directly, my sister got her MBA at Kellogg while she was raising my nephew who was a toddler (this was 3-4 years ago). She told me she was really intimidated at not only th...

Finding a school/work/life balance

While I felt like there are constant discussions about work/life balance. I wanted to open up a forum for current MBA students to discuss any tips folks may have about balancing school/work/personal life. As a second year in a full time MBA program, I recognize the importance of devoting my attentio...

Absolutely. I am currently in my second year at HBS, and am still aware that I may have not been here without the help of Stratus. To qualify that, I think finding a comfortable fit with a consultant is important, so while there is a bit of subjectivity that should be understood, I found Stratus' pr...

Yeah, I would agree to the last two responses. While the social life in business school is awesome, it isn't really a reason to choose to pursue an MBA. I studied humanities undergrad since that was my passion. While I love business school now, I think having a major that isn't business gives me a m...

Yeah man, there is no way to do any full time job during your MBA. So much of the experience here happens outside of class. I just started at HBS, and if I was working full time, I would miss out on really core parts of the experience here.

So I worked with Stratus Prep last year on my applications. I worked directly with Shawn on 4 Schools (HBS, Kellogg, CBS, and Wharton). I was nervous because it was a huge investment, but had a great experience. The greatest value was in the strategy that he helped me create for my application. I wa...

Yep. I worked with Stratus Prep last year, and had an incredible experience through and through. Shawn helped me come up with a really compelling strategy that I hadn't even considered before. He helped me with a bunch of different edits on my essays and was always patient and confident. He was incr...

My first month at HBS

Happy Friday everybody, There is a ton of great advice out there, but there are a number of people speaking as "experts" as well, who haven't actually walked the walk. I just started at HBS this semester. This has been a goal of mine for years, and I am ecstatic to be here. Every time I go...

Ask an HBS Student

Just started at this semester. As an applicant it was a challenge for me to find out what the student experience was really like since I didn't know any current students. Guys at my office had gone to HBS a few years back, but since the landscape is so different than it was a few years ago, I felt a...
