haha, that's funny. There's another GMAT board I was on, and everyone there was complaining about Kaplan and suggesting GMATPrep, OG and PR instead. I honestly just think those materials are so much better. I think Kaplan is good if you want tough practice questions, but practically everyone says no...

Stop taking the Kaplan tests. They are not realistic, especially for verbal. It doesn't sound like the class is helping, and it might not be worth it to continue. I don't know if their moneyback guarantee is good if you quit the class or only if you take the real GMAT and bomb it, but if you're stud...

If you don't show up, you lose your fee, so it's really not wise to do that. If you're not ready for the test, reschedule it before your test day. If you take the test but cancel the score before they show it to you, the fact that you cancelled a score will show up on your test report, but most scho...

There is no legitimate comparison. The CAT is adaptive and your score is based on which questions you get right. The paper test is linear. So you truly can't compare.

A 690 is a very competitive score. No worries, dude! Nice job.
Another site to add to your list is www.review.com. There are some very useful articles there about applying to school, including what the schools are looking for in the essays.

Yeah, it doesn't work that way because the real test is adaptive, meaning the difficulty of each question is based on whether you got the previous one right, and how hard that previous one was. Your score is affected especially by how many questions you got right or wrong at the beginning of the tes...

I would look for an older PR book, like 2005 or 2006 for more tests. Prob 2005 to be sure they're different enough from the new 2007 ones. You can probably find them on Amazon or Ebay.
I haven't used them so I don't know if they're good, but some people have mentioned the Cambridge tests.

100 minutes to figure out how to start prepping for the GMAT is a bit much! Until you actually start your prep, you won't process a lot of what you're reading...you won't relate to it. There's great info there, but honestly, you just need to get a good review book and dig in, then start doing practi...

Definitely download the GMATPrep tests...they're free and they're a must along with the OG. There's another free practice test on www.review.com, but if you can buy that company's book, Cracking the GMAT, you'll have another four tests. I suspect you're rushing and that you're making yourself nervou...

I am about to start PR's online GMAT course and will post my thoughts on it as time goes on. Do the demo; it's free.
IMHO PR is a lot better than Kaplan for strategy and for the quality of its practice tests. I didn't even consider Kaplan for an online course.

500 is an easy score to get...you could probably get that with almost no studying at all. If you only have a month I would do Cracking the GMAT, Official Guide, and GMATPrep tests (those tests are free for downloading on www.mba.com). I also would not spend 8 hours a day...that's just too much and y...

Kaplan tests are notoriously hard and not very much like the real thing. Do the GMATPrep tests and Princeton Review tests...you'll surely crack 600!
And definitely plan on spending a good amount of time on the OG. It's a must.

I have heard the Crack GMAT tests are not good...in another forum they are listed as tests to avoid. Do not confuse them with Cracking the GMAT tests, though...those are from Princeton Review and are very good. To improve SC you really need to understand English grammar. That takes practice and good...

I agree...also take the Princeton Review tests, because they come with full answer explanations for each question. I found that to be extremely helpful.
