Rejected from all schools
So after living and breathing the MBA application process for two years now, I finally got the results: Harvard: rejection MIT: Rejection Northwestern: Rejection Cornell: Rejection UC Berkeley: No update (Rejection very likely) My stats: 760 GMAT score, 2.8 GPA Work Experience: four years work exper...

You'll need to take a look at your application. If you're applying to a top ten school, a 670 is low, but not the end of the world. If your application can make up for it elsewhere, either with great work experience or a strong undergraduate performance, you could still get in to some very good scho...

760 - 99% - 49Q/46V - How I beat the GMAT
INTRO I took the GMAT the other week and just got back my formal score (I also got a 6.0 on my AWA), and since I got so much out of this website, I thought I could give back a little. I'll explain my study process, my thoughts on the core GMAT subjects, and techniques I used leading up to the exam....

short cut for the OA when solving 2.
n* = n(n-1)
(x-1)*=x-2
(x-1)(x-2)=x-2 <- don't distribute, just divide each side by x-2
x-1=1
x=2
Sufficient.

How do I get to see my score from the practice GMAT test?
I just finished the first GMATPrep practice exam, and it gave me a score of 740 (49/42) which is overshooting my target score by 40 points (yeah, I was pretty pumped when I saw that), but when I look at question review, I see that the quantitative section was 37 questions and I got ten incorrect, an...

Yeah, it's B. There is confusion as to should vocal tracts be singular or plural. It should be singular, and to prove it, here is an example, and then I'll explain: "Foxes can be easily spotted by their long orange tail." This is a simpler example, but as you can see, the foxes have a sing...

I noticed in the answer choices that most of the answers deal with answers that are either too broad or not a direct subject of any of the paragraphs. A is only relevant to the second paragraph, so we can scratch that right off the list, plankton on the other hand, isn't mentioned at all in the seco...

I was thinking about B, but Karen raises an excellent point. I'm no expert, but Japan is not a culture, it's a country. Japanese culture or Japan's culture are the ways of talking about the culture of Japan, but we don't get that option. Choice D, which is awkward, does work. My hang up with D was t...

helps to have a large sample of squares memorized, but let's choose some at random. n = 1, the remainder is zero. n = 3, remainder is zero. n = 9, the remainder is zero. This seems to be the trend. Looks like we can conclude what the remainder will be (zero) when n is odd. Now if n is not divisible ...

Answer A was the only contender next to E. It's tempting because it seems to explain that women aren't actually winning the elections - but the number of women running for reelection is a small subset of the total number of elections. The stimulus already says that the rate that women win vs men is ...

Thanks! That's very reassuring to finally hear someone say. What are some resources that can help me get a better idea of the kind of students each university is looking for? I know how to cast a wide net, but knowing where to cast it to begin with would be a huge help!

Chances of a good business school with a rotten undergrad GP
Okay, so I'll admit, as an undergrad, I wasn't such a great student. I was pretty ambitious - double majored in electrical engineering and physics and I took active roles in several academic clubs around campus, but all I have to show for it is a 2.85GPA. I'm now a 24 year old electrical engineer wh...
