The 1st marble selected can be white or black. Say a girl selects white. Then, 1st Girl = 5/10 (probability of choosing a WHITE marble) 2nd Girl = 4/9 (Depending on which color is choosen by the first one 3rd Girl = 3/8 4th Girl = 2/7 5th Girl = 1/6 Multiplying the probabilities we get 1/252. But th...

Q. |x|= y-z? x= y-z or -(y-z)/(z-y) Stmt 1) x+y = z x = z-y but we dont know z-y is +ive or -ive Stmt 2) x<0 ; so x is -ive. but nothing is mentioned about y or z. however when we combine 1 and 2, we have z-y is -ive.hence y-z = positive x. |x| = x = y-z.Ans to the question is YES. Hence C. (Pls. co...

1. Given (-a,b) and (-b,a) are in the same quadrant. This means "a" and "b" have the same signs.(+,-) 1) xy > 0 Means x and y have the same signs. Good. But this does not tell us if the values are in the same quadrant as (-a,b) and (-b,a). Insufficient. So we need something that ...

The formula for the Area of a triangle is 1/2 BASE X ALTITUDE. Stmt 1 : If the angles ABC and KLM are equal, the triangles are similar triangles. 1/2 BC * AC = 4 * 1/2* LM * KM BC * AC = 4 LM * KM = 2 LM * 2 KM Observe that the length of sides double when the Area increases (SIMILAR TRIANGLES) Hence...

My Bit.

1) Events are non related.

Total No of ways we do not get a 6 when a dice is rolled = 1-(1/6) = 5/6
4 Dices are rolled, hence (5/6)^4 = 625/1296 ways in which we dont get a 6.
1-625/1296 = 671/1296.

Hence 671

My Bit. B worked for 10 days. Then, A and B together completed the project. B finishes 10*(1/30)= 1/3 rd of the project. ( In 1 day B does 1/30 of the project) Rate of A+B in 1 day = 1/12 th of the project. ( A + B = 1/20 + 1/30 = 1/12) Hence no of days to complete 2/3rd of project = 2/3 * 12 = 8 da...

Approach is very simple.

PP (Purchase price) = 150
Let, Selling Price SP = X
Mark up on SP = 40%

So we have an equation here,

PP + Mark up on SP = SP
150+ (40/100)*X = X
Solving for X, we have X = 250

PP= 150
SP= 250
Gross Profit = 250-150 = 100.

My Bit. 1. If the sum of the digits of an integer are divisible by 3, then the number is divisible by 3. ( This helps us resolve the problem of interchange of digits of 100's place and 10's place) 2. How many multiples of 3 are there between 310 and 400 ? 3*104 = 312 3*133 = 399 133-104+1 = 30.( Hop...
