How should you solve this problem, other than finding the actual numbers?

Please help. I don't know how to solve.
List S consists of 10 consecutive odd integers, and like T consists of 5 consecutive even integers. If the least integer in S is 7 more than the least integer in T, how much greater is the average of the integers in S that the average of the integers in T?

Positive Integers and remainders
Please explain! I don't know how to tackle problems like these.
When positive integer n is divided by 5, the remainder is 1. When n is divided by 7, the remainder is 3. What is the smallest positive integer k that k+n is a multiple of 35?
