Hi Mike, Thanks for responding to my question. I was trying to model this question after one one that I had seen from GMAT prep but with a little twist so that this one was not asking for the exact same thing. Here's the original question: To celebrate a colleague's retirement, T coworkers in an off...

I took the GMAT last Friday (6/21/13) and scored a 790, with a 50 on quant and 51 on verbal. Below is an overview of how I prepared, though I did not keep great track of what I did when, so the dates are a bit fuzzy. I have a problem with your post. Q50, V51 should convert to an 800 on the real GMA...

Kevin, thanks for clarifying. I didn't think the algorithm exhibited that strange behavior at the very high end of the scoring range, but apparently, it does. I got a 790 on GMATprep with Q50, V49 so I was almost certain Q50, V51 would be an 800.

I'm assuming what you mean when you say that the two equations "have no common root" is that they cannot be solved simultaneously. In that case, I would pick (E), a=-9, and here's why: If a=-9, We have the following two equations: 3x-2y = 5 -9x+6y=10 If you multiply the first equation by 3...

One way to weaken a causal argument is to show that the stated relationship is reversed. Survey responses suggest that having less intimacy with siblings earlier in life (X) causes emotional distress by age 65 (Y). Answer choice B suggests that the relationship is not exactly as stated. Instead, emo...

Hey buddy, I will suggest you use as many retired official problems as possible in your study next time around. It appears you focused too much on material from Manhattan GMAT and had very limited exposure to retired official problems. I think the Manhattan SC Guide is the bible in SC, but I would p...
