Confusing Absolute Value Q
Hi All--
I find this absolute problem confusing--it seems nonsensical to me. Can someone help?
if Y>=0, what is the value of X?
1. |x-3|>=Y
2. |x-3|<=-Y
Thanks!

This is definitely something I struggle with. I can't seem to get my Verbal score over the 40 hump. According to my MGMAT test scores, RC/CR are my weakest verbal sections. I'm pretty much perfect up until 700-->800 lvl questions, then my accuracy falls dramatically to ~40% (possibly lower--I can't ...

Thanks, Ron. That was incredibly, incredibly helpful. I got so caught up in "must be true" thought that I didn't really consider what the question was asking.

Can we re-write A as below? Women who do more regular volunteer work than men do tend to live longer. Is it still same as option A? I was confused here only. Phrased this way, I don't think A works anymore. Your re-phrase qualifies women as women WHO do more volunteer work than men tend to live lon...

Function Problem
A biologist finds that she can perfectly model the population growth G of a bacteria colony after n days using the function g=5,000((1+b/50)^n -1), where b represents the colony's birth rate in cells per day. If the biologist takes this birth rate to be a fixed value, is the rate greater than 100 ce...

I narrowed this down to A and C, but, even though C sounded better to my ear, I went with A because the 'it' pronoun in C seemed to be ambiguous. Why is the use of 'it' in C not a problem?
