Yale SOM verdict?
Hi community, I'd like to solicit your feedback, opinions and personal experience with regard to Yale SOM. I'm looking to apply there and I hear really mixed reviews about the program and am frankly unsure what to make of it all. What I hear about the Pros: 1. Very global program with a strong inter...

Hi Arun, I can only state personal opinions. But mine is one case while Manhattan and Kaplan and others have analyzed thousands of cases from diverse backgrounds and come up with lowest common denominator solutions. I'd suggest their recommendations would have greater chance of helping you than my c...

Hi Arun, Clearly, your quant is fine and your need to focus on verbal. As far as SC goes, I'm sorry but I can't offer much help. I grew up in Bombay and was raised with English as a first language, in addition to which I read a lot. I got through SC purely on instinct. RC and CR were more strategic ...

Hi Anuj, Could you, maybe, be a little specific about the exact areas that're proving to be your Achilles' heel(s)? I might be able to make a few suggestion on how to practice or what to read on a more topic specific basis. I did not have much time to prepare. I wanted to take the GMAT last year but...

MBA Tuition
Hi there,
I have a quick question.
MBA programs tend to declare tuition cost for one year/first year. What does that mean for tuition or costs in the second year? Are they identical to the first?
Insight would be appreciated.
Cheers!

1 year programs. What're the pitfalls?
Hi guys, I'm looking to apply to MBA programs, with a slight tilt towards Finance. I have an engineering bachelor's degree and want to make a career transition. I was wondering whether a 1 year MBA program might have the flipside of being too short for companies to consider the training sufficient t...

Hey there, To begin with, you should note that the GMATPrep will adjust for question level. In my case, I regularly found the average difficulty on the practice tests to be higher than in the OG. I figured this is because of the adaptive software adjusting the level to give me questions consistently...

Yes, this was my first attempt. Prep. time, I'd estimate to have been 1.5 months or so. Though, it was a bit of a ramp-up for the first 2 weeks to regular and intense study, which I then maintained for the remaining 4. Material: I solved the GMAC, Manhattan and Kaplan free tests and additionally pur...

Quant - 50 Verbal - 44 AWA - 5.5 IR - 8 The forums here proved invaluable to me, mostly to help me understand questions that I couldn't otherwise have wrapped my head around. In case anybody here would like my personal opinion on anything GMAT related, I'd be glad to oblige. So reply here, send me a...

Integer coordinates
A certain square is to be drawn on a coordinate plane. One of the vertices must be on the origin, and the square is to have an area of 100. If all coordinates of the vertices must be integers, how many different ways can this square be drawn? A) 4 B) 6 C) 8 D) 10 E) 12 The solution provided to this ...

[(10^x)^y]-64=279 To find: xy 10^xy - 64 = 279 Let xy = 2 ==> 36 ==> Sum = 9 Let xy = 3 ==> 936 ==> Sum = 18 Let xy = 4 ==> 9936 ==> SUm = 27 So, using formula for AP 9 + (n-1) 9 = 279 9n = 279 n = 31 So, 31+1 32
{E}
Sorry, I was confused for a second because I didn't see a defin...

I agree with this approach. However, just to take note, there's an error up there; the 84000 should be 82000.Resulting average:
Approximate AVERAGE of all 19 masses = sum/number = (27000+55000)/19 ≈ 84000/19 ≈ 4400.

Hi Dan, The core difference in the questions lies the sequential nature of the probabilities of the second, as opposed to the scenario in the first question. The probabilities given in Q1 are entirely representative of the chances of picking each of those colours and do not need to be adjusted for h...

I'm not entirely sure how this is correct
Hey there, I have a question regarding one of the answers in the Official Guide 12th Edition and was hoping you guys could help provide some clarity (which eludes me right now). This refers to Q9 in the Diagnostic Test, Verbal Section. The answer says that the correct choice is B because Searle has...
