I don't plan to expand to verbal, because I don't think that format would be as useful for verbal. Especially on CR and RC, I think the key is to really focus in on each specific word in the passage, the question, and the answer in order to understand what makes a given choice right or wrong. It's l...

While I agree that seems strange/questionable, rather than spending your time worrying about whether this is right or wrong, you need to immediately take a FREE GMATPrep practice test if you have not yet done so. http://www.mba.com/the-gmat/download-free-test-preparation-software.aspx The official p...

If you have the dedication, time and the money to do so, I don't think it's absolutely crazy. Having said that, I think it's probably not the best use of your time or money. I think you should first ask yourself what your weak points are and then decide if another prep course will address those weak...

The Official Guide's math questions are, generally speaking, not as difficult as they could be. Any CAT, whether from a test prep company or GMAT Prep, is likely to show you (if you are doing reasonably well) questions that are harder than almost any of the ones in the OG. Having said that, the rang...

Yea, I don't think there's much more to say than that FG could be drawn in pretty much any way you want, and there is no mention of it in the statements.

Hi George, I'm working on a GMAT math only prep site called GMAT Boost: www.gmatboost.com. It's not a full course; it's a bunch (250+ so far) of difficult practice questions with video explanations. I haven't launched yet (a couple of weeks away hopefully), and anyone that signs up and starts using ...

Shankar: 19 and 91 don't count because they aren't multiples of 3, as stated in the question. We need two-digit numbers that are multiples of 3 AND whose digits multiply to a multiple of 9. The only way the product of digits is a multiple of 9 is if either 1. Both digits are multiples of 3 2. One of...

Perhaps re-arrange to emphasize the quantity we are looking for:
Average = x% * SumThe average (arithematic mean) of a list of numbers is what percent of the sum of the numbers?
x% = Average/Sum
St 1: There are 8 numbers in the list.
Average = Sum/8 --> Divide by Sum
Average/Sum = 1/8 = x%

You could also go in the other direction:
Since x + y = z, y - z = -x.
So, we want to know if -x = |x|
We should know that this is true whenever x <= 0.

This is either an exact copy or an almost exact copy of an OG question. Make sure that you read all the OG questions and explanations (where needed). You should be comfortable with the reasoning used in every single one.

Hi, I agree that estimating is a good strategy. However, Luke made two errors in his post that happened to cancel each other out and lead to an answer that was correct: We've rounded the capacity up but the percentage also, so our answer should be close to accurate. 1. If 82% is 138 gallons, estimat...

Wanted to add a quick comment about choice C: Choice C can be translated as: Either n or k contains both 2 and 5 in its prime factorization. If you think of it this way, you can quickly conclude that there is no reason why all the 2's can't be in one number and all of the 5's in the other number. Yo...
