On a related note ,can anybody say , in how many ways one can put 3 letters in 3 envelopes? IMO, it should be for first envelope, 3! ways, for second envelope 2! ways, for third envelope, 1! ways, same would be for letters, for first letter, 3! ways, for second letter 2! ways, for third letter, 1! ...

No frankestien, you're getting it wrong, the question asks which of the following 'must' be true, picking up option 'd' suggests we can take any value greater than -8, this can be anything between -8 and infinity, so try and pick up 255, it doesn't satisfy the given condition.

I used the simple arithmetic formula,
(a+b)(a-b)= a^2 - b^2
The answer comes to 30 too... please lemme know if there's anything which consumes less time!

See, for the first question,
We know 35 people are neither attending QA nor VA, so we are dealing with only 115 attendees....
Use the formula
(A U B)= A + B - [A (intersection) B]
=> 135 = 90 + 80 - x
=> x=65
=> only verbal is 90 - 65 = 25 <= Ans.

What is the least integer such that when divided by 25 or 7 it leaves remainder 1? (A) 76 (B) 101 (C) 126 (D) 151 (E) 176 what i did was multiply 25 with 7 and add 1, answer is correct but dont know how to quite solve it I guess substitution can make this problem easier... It hardly took me a minut...
