This is OG12#42 with correct choice A. Its so hard to first learn the rules and then unlearn them...why can this all be consistent...

Well thanks e-GMAT for telling us to not unlearn the rules but to keep them aside and ensure we eliminate choices based on other errors...

I could not get to the correct answer. I marked choice E as the correct one, even though I was little doubtful about it. But I felt that all A through D were modifying the preceding clause and hence are incorrect. We need something to modify the 25% increase and so thought that choice E with "w...

IMO this sentence is wrong... If we replace "due to" with "caused by", the sentence is: Caused by the limitations imposed by the speed of light, the visible universe is estimated to be a mere fraction of the universe. I think "caused by" now modifies "the visible u...

Subject - Verb Agree Or Not

A) Just on the intersection is a café and a salon.
B) Just on the intersection are a café and a salon.

Which one is correct? I feel it should be A) since the nearest subject here to the verb "IS" is a café and "a café" is singular. Please reply.

Placement of Adverbs

I could solve OG12 Question Number 40, but I have a small doubt: Dr. Tonegawa won the Nobel Prize for discovering bow the body can constantly change its genes to fashion a seemingly unlimited number of antibodies, each targeted specifically at an invading microbe or foreign substance. Will the sente...

Nice explanation e-GMAT. I now understand how choice B is the correct answer. But does the comma prior to including not make choice B also wrong? Please advise. I thought that comma + verb-ing modifies the preceding clause and verb-ing without comma modifies preceding noun.

I think "While" will be correct. I think "while" can also be used to show a contrast.

I am not sure if "where" is correct. May be it is...Did you find this sentence in a trusted source. It sure looks like a good one except for the "where".

Congratulations on your score. I like your strategy - "I took a practice exam at the very beginning of studying to use as a baseline. I took my second exam 6 weeks into studying, and took an exam every weekend after that until the exam."...Great one indeed.
