There are tactful ways to approach Vanderbilt for some merit scholarship money. They will likely not match the 30K but I have worked with clients to communicate in these types of situations with schools and often there is some positive movement.
Good Luck!

CBS Essay Question 3: Tips on Answering the “Pleasantly Surprised Prompt It’s odd that the question that I thought was going to be the most fun this year for many of my CBS clients, has turned out to create the most anxiety and shots missing the target. What will the people in your Cluster be...

In terms of HBS 2+2, this had indeed become a target for so many young people from all corners of the globe. In fact, the web has made MBA information access so easy that the world has become "smaller" and applications are coming in from countries that traditionally sent few folks to elite...

I would tend to agree with Jon. Though we can't see all of your critical info (like undergrad gpa/score), you're not coming as a pure IT engineer but have also been closer to the customer with the sales process. This and your gmat can be attractive to schools in the top 15-20 (most of your choices a...

Yes, though the industry has made great strides in this regard, there are still some schools that have their own prompts. And it is indeed a pain. But my strong advice is don't have them upload a general letter. And if you have any spare time for reading, here is an op-ed I wrote on Poets and Quants...

Hello, I plan on applying for B-School in the fall, and have already taken the GMAT. While my overall score is good (720), my quant score isn't as high as my verbal score. Since my backroud isn't very quant-oriented either, after deliberation and consultation I decided to take a relevant quant clas...

I can understand why this would make you anxious, but I do believe that you will be fine. There is no "right" answer to your query as different hiring managers out there will have different tolerances, but I feel from my experience that this is an issue that folks get passed. DUIs are not ...

DxDx, I get asked every season whether a family business background is a liability for the MBA process. The answer is an emphatic "No"! Now, there are challenges at times with LORs, given your Dad can't very well write one (there are creative workarounds like a client, partner, or non fami...

I think your type of profile (with your solid gmat score) can get into the part time programs that you are targeting. Given that your work is largely delivering care, you may want to showcase any organizational/project management skills you have exhibited outside of work if possible. Some applicants...
