IMO the answer is E. Whilst it is possible to mix 2.5 gallons of paint and then throw the rest away, the question asks for the amount required "in order to measure out the portions needed for the mixture". Buying 1 gallon means measuring out exactly 3/4, whilst buying 1.5 galls will requir...
