DS - number properties

How many integers are there between c and d?

(1) Neither c nor d is an integer.

(2) c - d = 3

OA is C but according to me it should be E. Can someone explain?

Doesn't it assume that people who eat and exercise regularly are less prone to heart disease?

Similarly in D, If we assume that avoiding foods such as lean meats helps for CAD(Coronary Artery Disease) . This option also weakens the claim.
