Hi,

You have solid profile for the shortlisted schools, you can also target energy focused schools like Berkeley Haas, UT Austin - McCombs, Darden, Vanderbilt, Rice University, ASU Carey. As you have shortlisted right set of b-schools based on your career goals the next step for you would be to focus on writing strong essays, so start working on your essays soon. If energy sector is your preference, then you may consider few Canadian schools as well. Your GMAT and academics are fine, and you should easily tick this check-box. Remember your GMAT and other academic scores are like hygiene factors: once you cross a threshold, they do not matter much. They can take you out of the race, but may not get you in on their own. So, focus on essays. They will make your case.

An NIT is a good undergraduate school. If you can bump up the GMAT a little into the 700 range you will be at least competitive for schools that are strong in energy like Haas, Ross, Anderson, McCombs, etc.
