SC pronoun ambiguity

IMO: C also looks good... Can anyone pitch in as to why C cannot be d ans? Thanks in advance..

Nope. The issue is that present perfect is used here for an event that was completed in the past.

why option b is incorrect?

(C) Named for the New Mexico site where they have been first discovered in 1932, Clovis points, spear points of longitudinal grooves chipped onto the faces, have been found all over North America.

The present perfect tense is typically inappropriate for something that took place almost 80 years ago.
