C is my option
A, B - documenting?
D, E - modifier mistake
Please share your idea and your reasoning :D

IMO D. Shouldn't be C becuase "In addition to her work on the miocene homicide fosiil record" shouldn't modify Mary. It should modify contributions?

Anyone disagree?

I know the answer is D. But just wanted to see if anyone can clarify this for me, what would "her" in the initital phrase refer to if we don't use "Leakey".

Also, while trying to read the phrase, should we read it as "In addition to ........homicide fosiil record" to see if it needs Leakey or Leakeys contributions ? Just wanted to see how you guys approach this.

How it can be D... There is no reference for Her
It should be B

I don't think the sentence is doing any comparison here. But are you saying to read it as "In addition to......fossil record" and don't worry about anything after the preposition.

Hi,
No you should not omit that part, by comparison I meant her (Leakey's) work and Leakey's contribution.. and not Leakey and her work. I hope it is clear now.

(D) Leakey's contributions to archaelogy include her discovery of the earliest direct evidence of hominid activity and her painstaking documentation of --IMO the answer -- i see appropriate parallelism here.

Reason for choosing C --Leakey was a contributor to archaelogy --IMO too wordy.

His, her, its, my, yours, ours are all possessive pronouns.
That is why the possessive form leaky's is used to modify the first phrase .. This maintains parallelism i guess.

IMO D
