Round 2 Timeline

by EMAN » Tue Sep 08, 2009 9:49 am
I started studying for the GMAT about two and half to three weeks ago, so I am will not likely get anything in by Round 1. If I am applying to Round (January 6th at U of Chicago), does this seem like a reasonable time frame to craft an application and finish the GMAT? This hinges on how soon I get a decent GMAT score which I would imagine will take at least a few months for me at the minimum. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

As an essay guru, I would advise you to spend at least a month crafting your essays, but as for test prep, that depends on what kind of test taker you are. I usually advise clients to separate the two, focusing on the GMAT first and then the essays, as opposed to trying to do both concurrently. You have plenty of time to do both if you are disciplined and not having too much workload on your day job. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the insight. I have heard some people approaching both at the same time but your comments certainly make sense. I will swing back here for sure after I finish the GMAT to follow up. Thanks again.
