Recent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated to exist in the universe.

I personally voted for B .But i agree with OA : A.
I guess its just about the meaning which we are picking out from sentence
Recent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated to exist in the universe.
So the theory is just about the place where black hole lies .
Meaning i thought :- The theory is about black hole and about other galaxies existing in universe.

IMO- ARecent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated to exist in the universe.
A. that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of
B. that a black hole lies at the Milky Way's center and
C. that there is a black hole lying at the Milky Way's center and
D. of a black hole lying at the Milky Way's center and
E. of a black hole that lies at the center of the Milky Way and of
Its parallel and logically correct. addresses the correct Object of the sentence Milky way and making it parallel to galaxies. While B struggles in parallelism by making the object as Center.

You don't need to take the parallelism all the way back to "that" every time -- center of X and of Y is sufficiently parallel.

It is parallel and correct
Just read the sentence in a different way
Recent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the milky way and of many of the 100 billon other galaxies estimated to exist in the nature.
It says that a black hole lies at the center of milky way and center of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated in the universe.

NO offence to the above explanation about A and E but the explanation is not very clear....atulmangal wrote:Recent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated to exist in the universe.
A. that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of
B. that a black hole lies at the Milky Way's center and
C. that there is a black hole lying at the Milky Way's center and
D. of a black hole lying at the Milky Way's center and
E. of a black hole that lies at the center of the Milky Way and of
The Oa Given is
Op A
, although this question has been discussed earlier also but still i'm not convinced with the explanations...
as we see there is an issue of parallelism...and i think the OA violates the THAT AND THAT parallelism....
Well i too had doubt over A and E
First clearly B,C and D are clearly wrong...
Now between A and E one can find the correct answer using meaning clarity..
I think everyone missed that it is written "a Black Hole"
That means their is only one black hole not many....
So, A says there is "a black hole" between Milky way and many billion galaxies which is perfect in meaning.
Whereas, E says there is "a black hole" at the center of every billion galaxies and also the milky way.. Now
If their is only one black hole present (since written 'a black hole') how can their be one at the center of every billion galaxies...
I hope i answer every doubt and nice question... if i am wrong and if any1 has any doubt do argue back..
Thank you
If you liked my reasoning post a thank you..
