There are six cards bearing numbers 2,4,5,5,5,6. If two cards are randomly selected from the lot, what is the probability that the difference between the numbers on these cards is 3 or less?

Possibilities that give you a difference of more than 3.

6-2 = 4

Total possibilities - 6C2 = 15.

All other combinations will have a difference of 3 or less.

So, (15-1)/15 = 14/15 IMO

Total Possibilities = 6C2 = 15

Possibilities that will give difference of 3 or less = 1- Possibility of more than 3.

Possibility of getting difference more than 3 = 6-2. only 1.

Required probability = 1 - 1/15 = 14/15 IMO.

do not u think that there should be noted,that the difference must be non negative?
IMHO, the q is ambiguous
