question about alternative transcript

by semidevil » Sun Feb 22, 2009 9:34 am
2.6 gpa, BA in math. Goal is to get into Georgia tech. have not taken Gmat yet. I'm considering getting an alternative transcript. Since I work full time, the best option is online courses.

Questions:
how many classes should I have in order to build this 'alternative transcript?'
what courses should I take? Does it matter?

You should focus on taking quant courses and averaging 3.0 on above in them. If time allows, take at least 2 -3 courses.

I'm not 100% sure if this is true, but my guess is that bschools value courses taken at local universities more than online courses. Even though you work, check if you can enroll in some evening courses at your local university.

As to the courses: I'd shoot for Statistics, Financial Accounting, and/or Corporate Finance. As mentioned by VP_, 2-3 courses is a good figure.
