Translating English -> Math

by jsl » Sat Jul 05, 2008 1:55 pm
Hiya,

I am fairly confident on most questions but I find myself having trouble translating English to Math on advanced questions. I'm ok with basic questions but on advanced ones (particularly including sets, venn diagrams or tables), I can get thrown off track. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks,
Jon

There's a really useful website to help students' get better at translating word problems into mathematical terms. It's https://www.purplemath.com/modules/translat.htm.

Hope that helps!
