Hi there,
A few thoughts.... yes I'd encourage a GMAT re-take... schools take the highest score and it's fairly common to take it more than once. Ideally you'd like to get closer to the schools' average scores, which you can find on their websites, on rankings like US News, or on profiles like Businessweek.com. So another 20-50 points or so would really help. In addition, while a strong GMAT is needed for decent chances at a school, keep in mind it will not guarantee you'll get in... schools look at your whole profile.... work experience; past academic experience; leadership & teamwork; involvement/activities; your goals and reasons for the MBA, etc. Good luck!

Based on the given information please find the categorization below:
1)Scheller College of Business (Georgia Institute) - this will be very competitive as average GMAT is 678 and has acceptance rate of just 28%
2) Goizueta Business School (Emory University) - your chances will be less than 50% here
3) McCombs School of Business (University of Texas, Austin) - very competitive would not recommend
4) College of Business (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign) can apply will have 50-80% chances
5) Smeal college of business (The Pennsylvania State University) you can more than 80% chances
6) Krannert School of Management (Purdue) you can more than 80% chances
Hope the above information helps. If you would need any further assistance, please do let us know.
