Profile Evaluation

by Boston.mba » Mon Oct 06, 2008 11:19 am
Hi,

I just appeared for Gmat and scored quite below my expectations. I got just a 600 although i was expecting above 680. My GPA is 3 and I have a computer engineering background with 1.5 yrs of experience in an IT company.

I have applied for Boston College, Boston University, Babson, Northeastern and umass

Can you please tell me is there any chance I can get admission into these universities with a scholarship.

or should I take Gmat again?

Thanks,
Pri

Hello,

I think it will be difficult with those numbers to be competitive at the programs you mention for a scholarship, though probably you have a better chance at the last two schools than the others. If the quality of your work experience is exceptional for the 1.5 years (i.e., unusual leadership and accomplishment for that time frame) and you have compelling goals, there would be a chance.

To learn whether a new GMAT would be considered for a scholarship in this admission round, I suggest you ask the specific schools, as the policy may differ on that point.
