I appeared for GMAT and did not do very well :(.

Anyways, here's the story. I am looking to apply at U Chicago, Kelloggs and possibly Michigan Ross for part time/evening MBA. Took the GMAT today got 640 (Q:46 & V33).

As far as my background is concerned. I am Indian Origin, gradutated from Indian Institute of Technology, came to US and did Masters at MSU.

After that I joined a start up, (in the financial technology space), as the first employee and am currently the Executive VP of Technology, with about 10-15 people directly or indirectly reporting to me.

I have led almost all of the product development efforts in my company and also have been part of business development, strategic direction and business plan of the company.

Please let me know if this score is worth a shot for the schools that I am thinking about or not.

Hi U,
You have great work experience and PT programs usually have lower GMAT average scores. However, given that you are of Indian origin, you are in one of the most competitive application pools - Indian/Tech backgrounds, many of whom have scores in the mid-700s.

You might consider retaking the test if you have the time and believe you can score higher.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
