Profile Evaluation for Masters

by istandalone » Wed Nov 23, 2011 9:26 pm
Hi,
I am looking for Masters Programs in Management/Finance.

Age - 20yrs
Ethnicity: Indian

GMAT (Q47, V33, AWA 5.5) - 650 i.e. 79th percentile

Undergraduate degree - BSc Economics from Warwick University UK - currently in final year. High 2.1 in Year 2, High 1st in Year 1. Aiming for a overall 1st, should be able to manage it.

School - High average in both Year 10 and Year 12 - around 91% each

Work Exp. - some experience (about 3 months) with the family business

Decent extra-curricular at both school and university

I am looking at:
LSE - MSc International Management (with a term abroad at a business school in the US)
LBS - Masters in Management
Cambridge - MPhil Management

What are my prospects for these programs, specially for the one at LSE?

Also, what other places would you suggest? I want to do an MBA at some point, however I am looking for a MSc (Pre-experience courses) atm so as to improve my job prospects. After that I plan to work for a while before applying for an MBA. Ultimately need to go back to the family business.

Thanks a lot. Any advice is appreciated!!

Its doable. You have a shot at it.

Jobs post this program will be of technical nature(in fin) and some colleges might now like an MSc grad to apply for MBA. Anyways these are small deterrents. Post Program goals and reasons are more important.
