Power Score Weekend GMAT course

by rpickett00 » Mon Oct 22, 2007 7:41 am
I am planning on taking the GMAT in late Dec/early Jan and I'm just getting my studying underway. There is a company called PowerScore, that I haven't seen mentioned on this site that holds weekend GMAT courses. I am not sure if you are familiar or not, but they hold 2 8 hour sessions, Saturday and Sunday and there is one coming up in my area.

I was wondering if you were familiar with their test reviews and was curious as to if you thought that it would be a worthwhile experience for me. They have some space open for the Nov. 10th & 11th session and since I took a GRE course with them a few years back, I can take the GMAT course at 50% off or $200.

What are your thoughts on this?

Never heard of PowerScore. I would go with Princeton Review, Kaplan, or preferably Manhattan GMAT if you have the resources...

Just for your reference. Information about the PowerScore course can be found at https://www.powerscore.com/gmat/index.htm

Since I am eligible for the discount and can take the class for only $200, I think I'm going to do it.

I'm going to study for the test using the resources and books mentioned on this site, but I don't think that attending this weekend course can hurt.

Let me know what you think if you get a chance to look at the site.

Thanks for the reference. I checked out the website, and on the surface their services seem legitimate. I think it can't hurt you to take the course either.

Definitely come back and tell us what you thought!

Yeah, it probably won't hurt! Just be aware that cramming 16 hours into one week-end may make it tough for you to retain as much info - whether you're taking a course or just studying on your own, that's a LOT of brainpower in a short period of time. :)
