Hi, Zaffar

You probably haven't gotten any replies yet b/c people feel overwhelmed when they see a ton of questions in one post! You'll get a better response if you start a separate thread for each question.

Also, you say these questions are from "set 23" - can you be more specific about the source? I don't recognize "set 23" - and we do need you to post sources for the questions you post.
Thanks!

1) 4 ways (options are 0,3 and 1,2 and 2,1 and 3,0)
2) 74 ( a1+a2+a3+a4 = a5+a6+a7+a8 = 3. there are 24 such sets in 97 and an additonal a1 = 24*3 + 2 = 74
3) cant quite unedrstand the question which is the fraction . Where is the --
4) i dont get the fractions properly . Can you put a / to signify the fractions?

1. I think answer should be 8. Here we're talking about 3 different person. Lets suppose they are A, B & C.
So different seating arrangements can be :-
ABC 0
AB C
AC B
BC A
A BC
B AC
C AB
0 ABC

2. Perfect explanation.
3.4 - NOt clear
5. Agree on E. because stmt A says about tax rate and Stmt B says abt tax that he has to pay. So answer is not possible.
