Consider the following points Vivek:
  1. Not sure if you meant EMBA or MBA for Executives? Read here for a common confusion on this topic.
  2. Your profile is pretty interesting and eclectic. The academic stint though will be a bit difficult to explain and connect the dots - also from the perspective recruiters out there. Especially given the non-common nature of your profile, the onus of coming up with a well thought through post-MBA goals story is on you. Make sure you've done your research and thinking through on that front.
  3. The patents and team management experience will help. But it is not clear if you do something outside teaching/workplace too. That too helps/counts. Yes, GMAT is not the only factor but it is a pretty important one. So make sure you aim for at least the average range for you target schools if not more.
  4. Finally, if you are looking for full time programs, you should explore the 3 IIMs. Alternatively, if you are after EMBA, read here.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Manish, I most certainly look to apply to top 10 schools that offer 1 year full time MBA. They are

1. Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (Sep 12th , Nov 15th)
2. Indian School of Business - Hyderabad(Oct 15th, Jan 15th)
3. Indian Institute of Exceutive Management - Bangalore (Aug 31st, Dec 05th)
4. Indian Institute of Management - Calcutta (Oct 25th)
5. Xavier School of Management - XLRI (Dec 22nd, 2015)
6. Indian Institute of Management - Lucknow (Oct 31st, 2016)
7. Great Lake Institute of Management- Chennai(Nov 30th, Feb 5th)
8. Indian Institute of Management - Indore (Nov 9th, Jan 14th)

Getting in to one of these schools would be my top priority. What should be my course of action in achieving this. Please suggest.

Regards,
Vivek
