Hello Steelmen,

Thank you for your post!

In regards to your GMAT score, it is on par and competitive with the schools you have listed. Most fall at an average of 690, with a noted range of 620 to 740 for the class profiles. So, your GMAT score would be considered solid for these programs, but if you want to stand out in this area, it would be ideal to report a 700+. In regards to your undergraduate record, it would help to know which institution you attended in weighing this factor.

While engineers tend to be an oversubscribed group in the MBA applicant pool, I see some potential for you to stand out in the application process. Your work in strategy and operations, for instance, would set you apart. Be sure to quantify your achievements as well as highlight your persuasive and interpersonal skills in your most recent role. Additionally, your community involvement would help offset the stereotype that engineers lack interpersonal skills and possibly direct management experience (depending on your direct leadership in your community). In regards to your student leadership, these could be mentioned in your résumé and data forms; however, given that they took place nearly five years ago (at the time of your application), they will not be the best to discuss in your essays. The adcom will be looking for more recent examples of your community leadership and impact. So, consider what leadership earned you recognition as "environmental champion," as well as your ongoing involvement in the Rotary Club.

Overall, I can see potential for your success at the programs you list. If you would like to discuss your candidacy or next steps further, please contact us: https://www.clearadmit.com/services/free-consultation/.
