|
|
Hi there,
I write on June 28th, 2006. I only need a 500 to get into my program, however I seem to be having trouble achieving this.
I have no math training and have been out of highschool for 16 years. I have been studying and practising but can't seem to get a score higher than 470.
As I do not have any fundementals in math, my studying has been trivial.
Any advice you could give me such as focal areas, specific types of math or English tested at the 500 level or strategies to get a 500 or 520 I would greatly appreciate it. I am a little discouraged as I know a 500 is an easy grab for most people without studying. javascript:emoticon(' ')
Thanks in advance.

go with the basic, that is, use math books. Get the topics that GMAt covers and look them up in your math books.
that's what I did with mine. though I have a background in math, I first used the books, because those books have all the stuff. then when you have grasped the ideas, then that's the time for you to go back to GMAt review materials.
hope that helps. |

A good book to ground you on basic GMAT math is the Kaplan GRE & GMAT Math Workbook.
For a basic overview of GMAT math subjects, I recommend the Cracking the GMAT textbook. It's a very fast read.
Best of luck! _________________ Eric
