I keep a log of my mistakes and found that in RC,most (65% to be exact) of my mistakes were in detail questions... I seem to be doing great in the admittedly tougher inference and overall idea questions, but am struggling in these minute questions.
I typically do spend 1.3- 1.5 minutes per question on RC and have a accuracy of 85% - 88% on both OG and OG Verbal Review RC's. But I am want to get detail question hit rate up, so please suggest any strategies...

For any detail-oriented questions, remember that the anwer has to be directly supported by the text of the passage. Don't be creative, read between the lines or connect the dots. The answer will be, essentially, a paraphrase.

Always put detail reading comp questions into a context.
You should identify what part of the passage the reading comp question refers to.
Then read the first sentence of that paragraph.
Then read adjacent sentences.
Then re-read the first sentence of that paragraph.
In this way you will understand the relevance of the detail to the entire passage.
