According to me in order to solve this problem I will assume

T=6 coworkers; x= 24 dollars ,S= 2 coworkers

Now according to question

each worker has to pay 24/6 =$4 per person for lunch and when as assumed earlier 2 coworkers unable to pay then other 4 coworkers (6-2)has to pay their share also.
Now question ask how much additional amount that coworkers has to pay
$24/4(left coworkers)=$6per person
Earlier each person was paying $4 and now they have to pay $6 so additional is $2. therefore, $ 2 is our target number. Just put the values in the equation and u will get the answer. Let me know if u need more help
