Maintainance Contract

by sandeep_chhabra » Thu May 15, 2008 10:20 am
as per my understanding equation should be :

3/7 + x = 2/3

=> x = 2/3 - 3/7
=> x = (14-9)/21 --------- (taking LCM)
=> x=5/21

why the answer is 5/12 instead of 5/21?

thanks for the help

According to me
let assume 21 homeowners

3/7*21=9 ; 21-9=12 remaining homeowner

2/3 of 21home owner=14

14-9=5

so now put into fraction 5/12 answer. Let me what u think.
