Hi,
I have just been rejected from Stanford and MIT. Since both schools do not give feedback about what was wrong in my application I was wondering if these qualifications were low for these schools (I am talking for the GMAT since there is not higher qualification in GPA than 4.0). I am not sure if I should take the GMAT again.
I have experience of more than 6 years in several positions from analyst to manager.
Any help will be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

| Could you elaborate a little bit on your work experience and your undergraduate education. Those credentials by themselves don't tell a complete story and you're bound to get a better response if you provide more details on your profile. |

I am an Industrial Engineer graduated with honors from a prestiguos university in Peru.
I have worked for IBM and Nestle, I started from analyst of the Supply Chain Organization and my last positions is Replenishment Manager for Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia. I am in charge of a team of 6 people and I am the direct support for the general managers of those countries.
Any help will be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Jimat,
While it is possible your GMAT score is part of the reason you were rejected, I do not think it is the entire reason. Since I have not worked for those schools and did not read your application, it is hard to really know why. My experience would tell me that there were probably several things that led to the decision. First, being an international applicant to a US school, you have a tougher standard as the international applicant pool is quite large, and these schools keep the international population to around a third of the class. Thus it is imperative you distinguish yourself positively and find a way to connect with the admissions office beyond your application. With your GMAT being below their GMAT average, it probably did contribute to your decision as well.
I think you have the foundation for a competitive application, but perhaps you did not present yourself as favorably as you could? Likewise, you might consider applying to some other programs that would be more interested in your background while still providing the education you desire.
Best of luck,
