|
|
I am not saying that cultural achievments are dull, but this issue isn't as exciting as "demolishing a historical cemetery in order to build an outdoor mall".
This issue is from the GMAC list of topics:
"Each generation’s cultural achievements—such as those in music, art, or literature—represent improvements on the cultural achievements of previous generations."
I am using the strategy recommended by Erin on the TestMagic forum and writing down about five topics on either side of each issue and I really can't think of anything other than..
Agreement:
1) Each generation uses the former generations achievments as an inspirational building block for their own so it follows that they improve upon them.
2) People expect more from artists today than they did of previous generations so artists' achievments are greater.
Disagreement
1) Previous generations achievments should be judged in their own merit and not based on today's standards.
2) Cultural achievments today are not necessarily a continuation of previous generation's achievments.
Any advice for pulling out points from topics that aren't as hot? |
