Didn't beat the test....scored a 430

Hey guys,

I'm one of those people who did not end up doing too well on the GMAT, even after 2 months of studying and taking the prep course with Kaplan. I am aiming for a 600, anything around that score be great as well. Any tips?? I am retaking the course with Kaplan again to help build my confidence but I plan on applying to schools within the next couple of months most of the schools I am applying for only require an average of around 550....is it worth applying with a score of 430? (by the way I also scored a 5.5 on the essays don't know if that would do me any good)

Any help would be great.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the reply. My basic strategy was to take the course study as much as I can within a 2 month span, thats with working about 6 days a week. I know I personally need more time in order to improve my score. My main weakness is data sufficiency and sentence correction. I am planning on re-taking the Kaplan course to give me a basic overview again and help me understand the exam better, hopefully improving my mark. I know if I sit down and study everyday for about 2 weeks without working I can definetly help improve my score. Is there any type of suggestions you guys can provide me with in order to improve my mark other than just review and practice??

It's not just review and practice--it's thorough analysis of your errors and previous practice! Take some time to review the materials available on http://www.beatthegmat.com/resources.html to understand how to conduct this kind of thorough analysis.

It's not enough to just go through practice questions and review the explanations!
