Is there any way to view posts by number of replies in this forum as sometimes i want to go to some topics but i donot remember the topics if you can add search like that i will be much better

Eric when I do a search many a times I don't find the question in search but the question is actually present there...
Is the search option not that much effective. ??

Hey eric,
There is surely a difference between the 2 searches.But sometimes,we don't remember the technicality of the
posts :-like who authored it .was it in the sub-forums or was it in the main forum(ex;- GMAT Math and PS),
so this way it becomes very time-consuming to search by hit-and-trial.
If you can have this feature in the BTG google search,things would be much easy..


Also,I think that when any math question has too many symbols { [";3| etc. the google search isn't able to find the post.
It can lead to repetition of the questions and when the next guy posts the older link of that question,we realsie that OMG this was already discussed in the forum.

Aren't mathematical symbols differentitiated and recognised in BTG google search??

hi guys, i'm sorry about the problems that you've been experiencing. figuring out a solution for this problem is a pretty high priority for us. one of our big problems, though, is that we can't replicate this issue. specifically, eric and i aren't sure about which threads are present in btg but not present in the google search.

it would help us tremendously if you could give us a couple examples of threads that you couldn't find. for each topic that you couldn't find, we'd need the following two data points:

1) the exact keywords that you used to search for the topic

2) the url for the topic. i'm only asking for the topic url because some of your emails indicated that you were able to find the topic through some other search method such as advanced topic.

fyi, some other member raised this issue before too. but when we asked for examples, he couldn't remember any specific ones. the more info we have, the easier it'll be for us to fix this problem.

Say if I want to Search if the below question is already posted in the site

Is |x| < 1?
(1) |x + 1| = 2|x - 1|
(2) |x - 3| not equal to 0

Even though it exists in the forum it doesn't give an exact match! (not even in the advanced search)
