Hi Stacy
Thanks for your help in guiding the group.
I wanted to know about 1 year MBA options in the US. Also, what is the reputation of the same in the US and job prospects. Heard that 1 year MBA is not considered Good Enough in the US.
Thanks
nitin

Depending on your goals, the 1 year programs could be a great option. Since there is no summer internship, it is not the best option for a career switch.
Kellogg and Columbia are two schools with popular 1 year programs.

Hi Stacy
Thanks for this info.
I would have completed 6 years of working in IT development and consulting space by the time I plan to go for MBA next year.
I do not plan to make a career switch though I would like to move deeper into IT strategy, Business development and consulting as opposed to IT development.
Do you think Kellogs and/or Columbia would be a good option for my career goals in IT space?
(What about Johonson's business school? I had read that it provides one year MBA program as well.) Any education background that is mandated by these 1 year programs, e.g At Goizuetta (Emory), though providing 1 year MBA programs, graduate courses in statistics and finance was a requirement. Obviously I do not qualify as my background is in computer engineering.
Kindly suggest me options in order of relevance and school ranking.
Also, I would be grateful if you could give me some pointers regarding course fee for 1 year MBA program and options and conditions for educational loan.
Best regards
nitin

Hi Nitin,
I do believe that Kellogg, Columbia and Johnson would all be good options for you. You should look at their websites for the school specifics such as fees and prerequisites.

There are so many different rankings available, but in general, the rank would be:
Kellogg
Columbia
Cornell

There are many, many different loan and scholarship programs available. You would generally apply for loans after being admitted and the school cold help you with this. Many scholarships are granted based on merit after a review of your application.
